Hmm, that sounds like a good name for a meme on my food blog, don’t you think?

Anyway, YESTERDAY was Anthony’s 13th birthday.  I tweeted “I’m officially the mother of a teenager. Somebody shoot me please” – and had several replies lol 

I think that he had a good day.  It was a cold and drab day so we all spent the day inside – much like the day he was born!  It feels like we’re back in Rhode Island!  In any case, though, I shot some pics of my new teenager – omg, that’s so weird to say write!

Me: “You’re not letting that cat knead your hair, are you?”

 
Cream: “Who? Me? I wasn’t doin’ nuthing.

 
“What? He SAID I could! I was just umm… ”

Anthony was on the phone with his uncle, while watching a DOCUMENTARY(!) and getting a head massage from the cat.  He’s one multitasker, I’ll tell ya!

We had the house decorated for his birthday

  including his room!

After his dad came home, we had dinner – and then the illustrious homemade birthday cake!  He prefers those, but this one came out pretty sadly lol

This is the first time I’ve used those cheesey sugar letters – last time, too. LOL

You know how they say “it’s what inside that counts”?  TOTALLY TRUE! Because inside was butter pecan CAKE!  I’ve never seen it before, much less tasted it and it was DE LI SH!

Especially since it was STILL WARM!  Cream cheese frosting on top, too.

I’d asked Jimmy to stop and buy ice cream on the way home, and he got this Breyer’s Overload thing with chunks of stuff and whatnot – the combination was a sugar fiend’s DREAM. OMG was it good. 

I would have preferred it look extra special for him…

 

Because he’s an extra special kid, and I can’t wait to see what kind of man he grows into.  (But I want him to stay my little boy!)

(The candles were sparkler candles but trying to get a photo of a spark was near impossible!)
