Busy Busy Busy!

The weekend was fun, but very busy.  As I mentioned, I did a LOT of cooking which translated also into a lot of running around on errands as well.  In the heat. I hate the heat.  Truly. Hate. The. Heat.  Blah.

So I’m going to write out the things that are still bothering me that I’m going to go talk to the neurologist about today.  It’s more for me than you, but hey – if anyone else happens to know what the hell it might be, feel free to chime in!

  • Extreme sensitivity to heat
  • Excessive sweating
  • muscle ticks & twitches whenever I’m in an even semi-relaxed state
  • muscle fatigue with any – any – exertion
  • continued tremor, worsens with fatigue
  • continued loss of sensation

This weekend, we worked on my photography web site.  Hubby found an awesome site that we’ve edited to our liking.  In Jane Porricelli’s words “it looks INCREDIBLE, Dawn!!!” so I’m pretty psyched about that.  My biggest problem now is searching through just shy of TEN THOUSAND photographs that I’ve taken since December 25 to decide which ones are worthy of putting on there.  Yes, people – 10,000 – HONEST!

The site’s not finished yet, but I need to switch focus this week to getting Anthony’s lemonade stand up & running this Sunday.  I managed to get a space for him (without having to pay the $30 registration fee plus 3% of sales per week) starting this week.  I’ve also gotten a $50 gift card donated from our local Shaw’s market to help with supplies. I’m waiting to hear from a couple of other merchants to see if they’ll help too.  We’ve received a wonderful shipment of Alzheimer’s awareness bracelets, fliers & banners from the Alzheimer’s Association.   I need to:

  • write press releases for the 3 local papers
  • assemble the lemonade stand to be sure everything’s there
  • collect all the supplies we need for Sunday, including:  table, folding chairs, tape, photograph of Anthony & my Nana, cash box of some kind, paper, pens, sharpies for the Forget Me Nots (those paper things that you buy in the market and write your name on or a remembrance on) – ugh!
  • buy bottled water, cups, lemons (already bought the lemonade mix – yes, ppl sorry, but it’s too expensive to make REAL lemonade!)
  • Get some sort of market umbrella to cover us so we don’t melt in the heat like last year – especially since I really can’t handle it this year!
  • ummmm…. I have no idea what else yet.

Oh, and my sister & brother are both having a hard time personally right now – and I’m feeling it too – this empathy thing? It really can suck sometimes.  Also, we lost a member of the blogging community to a very difficult, miserable cancer.  My thoughts go out to her husband and six children, as well as her friends.

My thoughts are also with my brother, who lost a very good friend and fellow castmate to a plane crash.  I got to see her perform with Tommy when I went to RI in April and she was a very talented woman.  My heart breaks for her family & friends.

In any case, yes, I’ve been very busy and trying to keep a bunch of balls all up in the air at once.  It DOES look like (in my opinion) hubby will be keeping his job.  The new company is making a lot of changes (including changing the day they PAY THEM – hello? you think we might need to know that before rent day?) but those changes aren’t affecting hubby – except in good ways. So yay for that :)

Will update when I talk to the neurologist and deposit another $50 in his pocket. Gotta love co-pays. NOT.
