Ambajam – Tres’ Trendy!

Trendy is not a word that I would associate with my kid’s wardrobes.  When you are a 1-income family of 5, trendy just isn’t possible.  So when I opened the package from Ambajam, I was Sooooo psyched!  My kid will have a trendy something! Woohoo!

Seriously, trendy is a word synonymous with Ambajam.  Their adorable clothing options for children are colorful, with simple, eye-catching & colorful designs, and would be a wonderful addition to any kid’s wardrobe simply because they’re mix and match – to just about anything!  Baby clothes that look great and are well made – that’s a win-win for parents!

The long-sleeved froggy appliqued t-shirt that I received for Zachary will match his jeans, khakis – pretty much everything he has.   It’s made of 100% cotton, and it’s pre-shrunk so it doesn’t wind up fitting Libby’s dolls instead LOL  I simply cannot WAIT to see it on him.

The mini cuddle-up baby blanket, though? Oh my!  I wish I had a full size one to wrap myself up in!  There simply aren’t words enough to describe how soft this blankie is.  Truly, even with my daughter’s EXTREMELY sensitive skin, I’d have had NO qualms about letting her have this blanket when she was little – in fact, she may swipe it now, knowing her.  Super plush fleece that really does CUDDLE you – oh, it’s just the very most perfect gift for a new or soon-to-be mom!   It is simply a delightful blanket.  Simply gorgeous.  Simply a necessity!

I really love that all of Ambajam’s products are made in the USA.  They’re easy to care for and the beautiful, vibrant colors that they’ve chosen are so engaging for little ones.

Ambajam products are available through their website, and also at several locations located throughout the US.  They’ve also got some pretty nice sales going on right now as well, so head on over & go shopping for yourself, your soon-to-be baby, or that someone special on your list.  While you’re at it, stop by their blog and say hi, too!

As a special gift to the readers of Coming to a Nursery Near You, Ambajam is offering a 10% discount when you place an order through their website.  How cool is that?  So get to getting over there and use dandj10 for the discount code.  Tell’em Dawniemom sent ya! :)

Wordless Wednesday It’s time to take a stand

Last year, Anthony participated in Sunkist’s Take a Stand promotion which provides lemonade stands to kids and encourages them to raise money for their favorite charities.  We, of course, chose Alzheimer’s, as it’s the cause so close to our family.  It was a great learning experience for him.  He appeared in the newspaper, and did a  great job with everything.  Truly.  In the end, he raised over $400 for Alzheimer’s research.

When I (finally) sent the donation in to them, we received a phone call from a lady at the Alzheimer’s Association, wanting to thank us for the donation.  When I explained that he was only 11 yrs old, she was intrigued, to say the least.  She was thrilled that a kid of 11 was taking an interest in helping to raise money and find answers.  She’s pledged to help Anthony with his efforts this year, and is sending assorted materials to help him this year – things like banners, t-shirts, bracelets.  He’s so excited to get those things, and we’ve already received his lemonade stand for this year.

5543877_a3e0d87bd4_m Right now, the setback is that the guy who runs the farmer’s market, where we sold last year, says he has no room for any more non-profits this year.  (You know – because a space that’s about 5 feet wide takes away from them.)  So our option this year is to pay to have a space ($30 “registration fee”) plus a percentage of sales each week.  That kind of defeats the purpose of trying to raise money for charity.  So I’m trying to figure out what else we can do.  We’ve talked about setting up NEAR the farmer’s market *G* or perhaps the Farmer’s market in a nearby town.  We haven’t figured it all out yet.

The reason I decided to add this ChipIn widget was to help Anthony raise money towards his lemonade stand.   I know my readers are awesome – I know my readers can afford a $1 cup of virtual lemonade.  Right?   RIGHT? :)

Ok, after the 1st person donated $1 and paypal took 1/3 of it, I’ve decided not to ask for $1.  It’s just ridiculous to give them 1/3 of it!  Of the $5 from the next donation, paypal took $.45.  Of the $10 from the next donation, they took $.59.  So yah, the $1 thing just isn’t gonna work LOL

I’ll keep you updated as to what we wind up doing for location – but in the meantime, wouldn’t you just LOVE a nice, cold, refreshing cup of virtual lemonade?
