My favorite mamas
Dette over at Dance of Motherhood is holding a contest in honor of Mother’s Day. She’s asking us to do something VERY difficult. She’s asking us to pick 2 or 3 of our favorite mommy bloggers. ONLY 3?? I asked myself. (and her) The prize is a whollllle lot of entre card credits (I know – you’re asking “what are entre card credits, Dawn?” – but that’s a whole other post). So I’ve been thinking about this and need to place this disclaimer. If I haven’t mentioned you, it’s not because I don’t love you. I DO. It’s Dette’s fault, because she set the limit. Ok? Don’t hate me, ok? Please? Pretty Please?
Phew. The pressure.
In thinking about this, I came to realize that my favorite mommy bloggers are friends. They weren’t friends before I started reading their blogs. We are friends now. That, in itself, says a lot about their blogs. They make me feel like I’m not just a stranger from another part of the country or world peeking in on their lives. They involve you in their lives, the good, FUN times, as well as the not so good, painful, scary times. Just like being a part of their lives in REAL life. For that reason, I’m only going to choose 2.
My beautiful friend Stacey. I feel like I’ve known Stacey forever. Not only is she beautiful on the outside, but she’s truly beautiful on the inside. I don’t think I really knew the meaning of that until I met Stacey. She’s so full of love and comfort and respect and joy. She’s supportive and encouraging and a dozen more adjectives. But mostly, she’s just a FRIEND. Her blog, Jamee Forever, is dedicated to her sister Jamee, who she lost to cancer several years ago, is a testament to the kind of person Stacey is. She’s a dedicated mom of 3, wife to 1 and wonderful friend to MANYYYYYY. I have no idea how I came across it, but I’m so very glad I did.
and
Jennifer over at Playgroups Are No Place for Children – again, isn’t she gorgeous? Jennifer & I had babies pretty close together last year and so just as I was getting out of that tough time, she was getting into it – and she had no qualms with posting about those hard times. It really helped me to know that it wasn’t just me. It wasn’t just my baby. I liked Jennifer before she had Ella. I REALLY liked Jennifer after she opened up about the REALITY of motherhood.
Thank you to Dette for giving me the opportunity to stop & think about my favorite ladies and to brag about them to you
Quote of the Day:
All my life, I always wanted to be somebody. Now I see that I should have been more specific.
