a nice surprise

popping..

What is your most dreaded thing to clean in your house?  For me, it’s the bathroom.  Second on that list, though, is the microwave.  I hate it.  While I cover most things when I microwave, NO ONE ELSE does, so my microwave is always a mess.  Because I have next to no strength in my arms anymore, it’s such a struggle to get it cleaned – it usually takes at least 15 minutes of scrubbing to get it clean.  Yes, I KNOW I should just do it daily, but I forget.  Another thing on that list is DISHES – hate doing dishes – but ya know, have to anyway.

In any case, when I was notified that I’d won a prize in Miss Ann Thrope’s raffle that she threw in conjunction with raising money for Lisa, and then found out it was dish clothes and scrubby things, I was like “oh sure – something to make me wash dishes… loooovvvvelyyyyy” lol  Seriously.

But then I got them in the mail yesterday.  The kids immediately took off with them and played with them most of the day (yes, I’m a cruel mom who doesn’t give her children toys – just weird household cleaning items in the hopes that they’ll clean something).  Hey, it was safe for the baby to play with them so it was a plus for me!

Today, however, I opened my microwave and realized that with my parents coming this weekend, I really needed to clean it or I’d hear the dreaded “Dawn Marie!” from my mother, along with her scornful face (yeah, I’ll pay for that), hands on hips, wanting to know if I was brought up in a barn.  SO, I went and grabbed the new scrubby thing, wet it and put some dish soap on it to see if I could get the worst stuff off first, before spraying the microwave down with some sort of cleaning solution.

Here’s what I found out.

THESE THINGS ARE MIRACLE WORKERS!  In 5 minutes – FIVE – I had my microwave clean from top to bottom.  FIVE MINUTES!  My arm had only started to get tired!  I didn’t have to use chemicals and it’s SPARKLING!  No scratches, either!

Here they are, in all their really beautiful handyworked glory.  I am so not kidding when I say I ??LOVE?? these things!  Each scrubby thing came with a dishcloth, and those are getting worked out next when I go down to wash the dishes.  I know – you’re totally jealous, aren’t you?

Seriously, though – I don’t know how she made them, but they’re truly fantastic.  You need some.  You really do!  I’ll bet if you email her, she’ll be happy to sell you 2 or 200 :) They’re only a buck fitty.  I can’t believe I just wrote my first product review about a dish rag. But I really do love it!
